What loops of attention and behavior would serve you best? What loops could you enjoy in their moment? Sustain without strain? Find often-enough satisfying? Be proud of in retrospect? What loops support your life? Your connection to others? Is *this* a good loop?

Yeah, there is a vibe shift happening. You /could/ redefine yourself to fit the new vibe. Or, if you’re ready, you could use this chance to define yourself on your own terms - wholeness, joy, realness, whatever - on easy mode.

I’m getting utterly pilled by the comments on this. I did not expect such confident wrongness outside of ideological domains. A social process that cannot quickly converge on the right answer here can’t even be trusted to reason on questions that *don’t* make people crazy.

Since everyone is talking about LSAT questions, here's one of the "170 breaker questions." There are ~12 on each test and they are meant to be the hardest questions on the LSAT. Getting them right tends to predict scoring very highly (above 170)

I really, desperately want to see a whole system diagram of the banking sector / Fed I want to know the exact *API* between the banks, fed, treasury, etc — what are *all* the actions they can take relative to each other Have never seen this level of detail presented anywhere

The cost of fixing this in practice is dropping so quickly I'm tempted to stop pitching other people and straight up fix it my goddamn self purely for personal benefit.

algorithmic feeds are the first at-scale misaligned AIs

Ladies and gentlemen, I ask with great sincerity, WTF is even happening. How does anyone come to believe they know anything about matters outside their direct experience, with any defensible merit. Or, forgoing that, how does anyone make their own life make sense anyway.

nobody: me: Oh, all the different date formats must stem from culturally different relationships to time. Everyone says the “most significant” element first, but different cultures effectively disagree on which element is most important, because of different assumed OODA speeds.

if you'd like to retain coherency with reality, anti-memetic defense is the most important focus to have. as the internet catalyzes efficient incubation of increasingly viral content, anyone without sufficient memetic immunity will, from first principles, become literally insane

sure, it’s got value, but not enough to offset the opportunity costs of time, attention, and the stable functioning of one’s system

A bunch of the stuff I’ve been on (and on and on) about before, re software design and architecture, only stated actually really clearly and situated in a bigger philosophical framework. ( @taylo_r_ @JGSchlatter @JeffLadish )

A key thing is that many people need to start small. The first step doesn't look like deciding to start a company, it looks like fixing the wobbly handle on your frying pan. YMMV but if you tried starting at company scale and it didn't take, try wobbly handle scale.

Agency is a learnable skill. It's an all-purpose life intensifier, allowing you to make the world more like what you want. I wrote a post about it, link in bio.

Hrm. Anytime I’ve posted anything here about “how should we greet more skillful about finding things relevant?”, zero engagement. Yet, skillful relevance realization is … maybe everything? Seems off. Is it too abstract to discuss? Uncomfortable to care about? Taboo?
