As both major parties look to charge returning NZers $3000, you might be wondering, why are some Kiwis abroad only returning now, four months after the pandemic started? YMMV, but I can tell you about my situation. (1/8)

So we were going to add to the Wellington housing stock and build. Looks like we aren’t. Because they require cark parks to be carved into the side of a hill doubling the cost. The house is 20 metres from TWO BUS ROUTES. Why do we have a housing crisis they ask. WHY? Why!

It’s incredible how much more essential Twitter is than Facebook for reliable, real-time information about the most consequential events in the world right now (#BlackLivesMatter protests, #COVID19 spread). Yet Twitter is worth $24B compared to Facebook’s $641B.

Blis Technologies $BLT, penny stock battler in my home town: IPO 2001, then 17 annual losses in a row, followed by 2 annual profits. The stock has gone from $1, down 99.4% to 0.6 cents, then +1,317% to 8.5 cents to close this week.

The gross earnings from the Ice Age franchise, to date, exceeds that for franchises such as Fast and Furious, Shrek, Hunger Games, and Game of Thrones. The list goes on... What was that acorn filled with gold? Clearly I do not understand the entertainment industry.

First (traded) negative interest rate in NZ. An indexed bond rather than a nominal bond, but still a stark milestone for a country that has long had the highest real int rates in the advanced economy world.
