Wise decision. Stay safe everyone
TOMORROW: All #WRDSB schools will CLOSED and transportation CANCELLED. Extended Day Programs, Child Care Centres in our schools, and Education Centre will be closed. Student, staff and family safety continue to guide our decisions. wrdsb.social/3jmzdjN
Homework does little to improve achievement and can actually have negative effects, especially at elementary level. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus! And should never be taken away.
Talking with children, and helping them understand the consequences of their actions, is an essential part of improving behavior. They need to understand how their actions affect others. But talking is not *itself* a consequence, and kids know this.
There are students or staff who went an entire day without hearing their names today. Let’s make sure they hear their names tomorrow and every day. Let’s make sure that not only do the adults know and use their names but peers do too. It’s hard to belong if we don’t feel seen.

Co regulation is what we need to do and model as educators for kids to see and experience where they need to be. It brings them security and hope #wemakeadifference #calmness #mirror

Unprecedented levels of respiratory viruses are spreading like wildfire in schools and daycares. Children’s beds in hospitals are over capacity. There is no children’s Tylenol or Advil available. There are now shortages of children’s penicillin. #BringBackMasks
How many teachers does it take to do a subtraction problem? One, because it only takes one teacher to make a difference.
Today is your chance to pick who leads #WRDSB. Polls are open 10AM to 8PM. As trustee I will: ✅Focus on students & their learning ✅Increase engagement at the school level ✅Promote safe schools where each child is respected Your vote matters. #WRVotes

🛵SCOOTER JUMP STATION🛵: A fun #PhysEd station to practice jumping/landing and anticipation! We use rubber bands or Velcro to keep the noodles attached to the scooter and poly spots to stay in a straight line!
Finding a good place to work. Every morning we will start our day with some self selected writing. Friday’s will be for sharing if we want.
