Hawaii 🏝️was prob the sweetest vacation i've ever had. woke up to a private golf resort w/a private beach, went on volcano 🌋 tours to see lava lakes, swam in the greatest beach in the 🌎, went snorkeling 🤿 on a dive cruise + luaus & cloud rainforest trips. 💚ALOHA, indeed!💚

my mom told me her childhood consisted of fleeing kuwait during the gulf war, only to return to ration lines in her home country. looking at the state of affairs in the middle east it is sad to still have not escaped those times. resilience is in our bloodlines w/no end in sight.
If you haven't read 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini, perhaps now is the best time. Kabul, a city once vibrant with children running happily on its streets, where honeysuckle and gooseberry were aplenty. Now reduced to rubble, where the kites are no longer flying.
