We are honoured to receive this first-of-its-kind funding: designed and adjudicated by patients. @BCCancer @SFU_FHS
Homologous recombination deficiency testing helps tailors treatments for patients with advanced ovarian cancers based on their genetic profile. But not all patients have access to these tests. A pan-Canadian research team hopes to change that with new funding from the Network.
We're proud to announce that @MarathonOfHope will support 10 outstanding research teams as part of the Patient Voices in Research Initiative! We believe this is the first cancer research funding program in 🇨🇦 to be fully designed BY cancer patients FOR cancer patients.
📣 NEW FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 A year ago, members of our Patient Working Group met with Network researchers and oncologists in Halifax. At that meeting it became clear that people with lived cancer experience knew of gaps in cancer research that no one else knew existed. (1/3)
Looking forward to it, @DrCCuthbert!
