These gramophone records spent almost 50 years in the Baltic Sea, entombed inside a sunken u-boat...and we think we might be able to play them! That's got to be a world first, surely...? #shipwreckords #vinylcommunity #recordcollection

U-534 Quick Dive: A Little Help From Our Friends (from U-995!)
Until this week, the only pre-sinking photo we'd ever seen of U-534 was taken from the bomber that sank her... But thanks to the U-Boot Archive we now have a selection of photos of the sub in wartime service! Very excited to share more in the future.
We're happy to announce that U-534 will be joined by our new acquisition - a TBM Avenger. These torpedo bombers are famed for their use in the Pacific, but also served with distinction against u-boats in the Atlantic. Thanks @IWMDuxford for your support in making this happen.

U-534 wasn't the only u-boat to visit Liverpool...her near-identical sister U-532 docked here after surrendering, and was inspected by none other than Admiral Sir Max Horton - the commander in chief of @WestApproaches! Here he is stepping aboard in 1945.
