A Franklin, Tennessee, council member just held up a photo of what she described as a drag queen biting into “a live, beating heart” in explaining why she’s going the vote against granting a permit for a LGBTQ pride festival. “This could have happened here.”
Democrats seem to think that it’s not fascism until the banners are un furled above the White House and other institutions. By the time that happens, it’s far too late to actually stop what’s going on. If we do not continue to push this back, we lose democracy forever.

It’s not measles. It’s not HIV. It’s not a herpesvirus. It’s still best to avoid it to the extent that remains possible. I don’t get why holding these propositions simultaneously is so hard for some people.
The reactions to this fact check have been something... This ought to be taken as good news. The comments within are literally from people who have done some of the most consequential covid research in the pandemic. They know what their work says better than you.
Outside of long COVID or very severe cases, most research suggests COVID-19 doesn’t cause lasting damage to the immune system. A few studies have found evidence of some possible damage, but nothing as severe as an immunodeficiency. bit.ly/40RgtKc
Anyone who is defending Biden as the best we can get only needs to look at people like the #TennesseeThree or the Nebraska Senators to see we can get much, much better. I'm not against voting for Democrats. Never have been. I *am* against voting for Ds who govern like R's.

At least this is a step in the right direction. Nasal vaccines that are much better at reducing COVID transmission would be huge for making public spaces accessible to everyone again and reducing Long COVID. There needs to be so much more urgency on this! washingtonpost.com/health/2023/04…

I asked the WH if it plans to ignore Kacsmaryk's ruling (+ future decisions upholding it) & have FDA use enforcement discretion to leave mifepristone on the market. WH Spox: 'No. We stand by FDA’s approval of mifepristone, and we are prepared for a long legal fight, if needed.'
