I feel like people are just figuring out, that like how kids mature at different rates and can be quite different at the same age, adults atrophy by the same principle.

This is not an attempt to justify what happened at Stonehenge today, or even to change anyone’s mind about it. I’d simply like to add some context that I feel has been missing from some reports, statements and tweets.
I was reliably informed that progressive orthodoxy was rampant in universities, but now all these students are being brutalized for protesting? What gives?
Student activism is never perfect. You’ll always find some protestors who are ignorant or overzealous or narcissistic. They’re like 19 years old. But you also can’t wait for the perfect protest. It will never come. I really do empathize with the difficult position of leftwing…
It’s always the same discourse around protests, whenever there’s a new wave of unrest. People lose all understanding of protest, speech, and the nature of public spaces, while reaching to justify their reaction to the unrest. Just say you don’t agree with the cause.
