Not keen on being on here at the moment, & would rather be part of the exodus if it’s possible & this place can’t police itself. On Bluesky for a while at least.
Lots of condemnation of this, but isn’t it attacking the misinformation, rather than defending the individuals concerned? Might have been unwise for a Govt minister to intervene in this way, given the risk of misinterpretation, but I can't see it's actually condoning anything.
These people came to this location because it has been spread that racists were coming to attack them. This misinformation was spread entirely to create this content. Don't spread it MR Tice!
Latest news on this. But I don't think this part is right. If it's referring to the Licensing Criteria, this is a decision for ministers, not lawyers; and past breaches of IHL aren't necessarily determinative (see [2023] EWHC 1343 (Admin) para 124(4)). x.com/JewishChron/st…
Who’s doing the lumping?
I'm on a sun lounger by a pool right now so it's bizarre to learn that I am apparently I'm one of the people being blamed for hundreds of thugs taking to the streets 1,300 miles away in Britain. So here's my response: Yes, there are genuinely far right racist thugs who are using…

This is starting to drive people a bit… well, ‘batshit’.
The criminal justice system as a convictions delivery service.
If Govt intends to bring in repealing legislation, is it obliged to commence provisions under the existing Act? I’d’ve thought not (provided no unreasonable delay). If not, not sure why revoking an existing commencement SI is any different. But interestjng point & one to watch.
It’s actually quite a narrow point. A power to issue a commencement order includes a power to revoke it but not if the contrary intention appears.
Robert Jenrick is the new bookies’ favourite to be next leader of the opposition
A difficulty here is that many laws aren’t actually binding. They may be treated as though they are to some extent, but without the threat of legal action there’s less incentive to comply. A worry is that it’ll take a major tragedy to force the real changes needed.

Sage advice as usual. Why, for example, the best starting point is to assume anything from me is of zero value unless I can persuade otherwise.

Is this just a mistake? They were sacked only after being ‘accused’ of such behaviour? Even if just a mistake, it’s a very sloppy one.
Let’s be clear: these allegations are smears from former staff who I sacked after they were accused of bullying behaviour, lying about other colleagues to cover up their own failures and general gross incompetence. Intolerable behaviour I would not stand for (2/3)
Can anyone explain why so many keep saying Priti Patel was & is popular (‘remains a hit’) among party members? The ConHome surveys show she was unpopular with them when in Government, & remains unpopular now. Is there some other evidence that's supposed to be more reliable?
🚨 “Priti [Patel] is the Brat candidate in this election,” one Tory MP told @politicshome 🎓 She made her name as a Boris Johnson loyalist and remains a hit with the members. Can Priti Patel be the next Tory leader? politicshome.com/news/article/r…
