Really pleased that this special issue celebrating 100 years of dominance hierarchy research is now published. Edited by @Eliz_Hobson @_straussed @ShizukaLab & me. There are many fantastic contributions across a range of study systems and themes. royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…
Limited bedding also increased serum testosterone in female pups. Testosterone levels were also positively associated with the amount of licking and grooming pups received.
Limited bedding reduced pup body weight, changed USVs emitted, and reduced pup core body temperature, as measured by implanted BioTherm tags. Pup temperature was also affected by dam behavior (e.g. nursing) and pup age.
New publication! 🥳 Thrilled to have this paper out in @HormBehav with @fachampagne @Melissa_S24 doi.org/10.1016/j.yhbe…

This was the craziest game of scrabble I’ve played in a long time. Can’t be too sad about losing after scoring 561! We both got triple-triples. ACIERAGE for me and MEDFLIES for Jeremy.
A 569-561 game I narrowly won last night against @jalapic . Had it been a tournament game, 561 would have set the record in NASPA Collins Scrabble for highest loss (currently 546), and 1130 would be in the top 10 for highest combined score. What a wild game!
There is a new opening for a research associate in the lab of @fachampagne at UT Austin. Please let anybody know who may be interested! utaustin.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/UTstaff/job/UT…
Up The Villa !!!
When re-reviewing a paper... does anybody else ever find themselves unsure if they are reviewer 1, 2 or 3? I mean, they *all* sound like the kind of things that I *would* say. Which one is me ???

Enjoying a great visit by @trainorlab to UT. Brian gave a fantastic talk to a full house on new work from his lab on sexual differentiation of stress sensitivity during puberty in California mice. Look out for this great work!
