This is the truth. Data problems can be a symptom of process problems. Outliers may be a signal. Cleaning the data might just sweep the problems under the rug, missing an opportunity to make an impact.
Don't always clean your data right away. Sometimes, the messiness IS the insight. Inconsistencies and errors can reveal important details about your data collection process or business operations. Before you clean, ask why the data is messy. That's the insight.
It was fun hosting the in-person #BostonTUG meetup yesterday. Over 30 attendees attended, and three speakers shared insights and experiences! Thank you to #Salesforce for hosting us. The networking @tableau Bingo game added a fun twist, and I hope everyone enjoyed the swag!
My son and I were looking at this chart for a long time and talking about what it is telling us. Then he asked "but which one has there been the most of in all time". And this is my reminder that getting the perspective from the beginners eye is sometimes very helpful in dataviz
