Again KMT supporter here, so basically people in Taiwan are looking at President Lai saying that he will actively help the crown jewels of the Taiwanese semiconductor imdustry to the US and going what the frick are you doing here.

Taiwan's Lai: achieving President Trump’s goal of 40–50% domestic production of advanced semiconductors will require Washington to provide critical infrastructure, land, water, and power, plus workforce development, strong investment incentives. [Only?] if administration can…

If @RNicholasBurns has a problem with Trump's NSS it must be pretty good.

The Trump Administration’s strategy gets wrong all we know to be true about Europe—indispensable trade partner, investor in our economy, home to our most important military alliance—NATO, critical partner in deterring Russia and China.

Looking over NSS-2025. Ukraine is so screwed.

Also interesting no mention of North Korea in NSS-2025.

Also the NSS puts this in context. I am pretty certain that @KareemRifai and @RyanFedasiuk got advanced drafts of the NSS and were trying to focus on the first island chain to pitch their ideas. Not going to work because Asia is no longer a core interest.

Proceed with US arms shipments to Taiwan without delay. Publicly and robustly support Takaichi's position on Taiwan. No more validating Beijing’s theory that economic leverage can veto US security commitments. The newest from @RyanFedasiuk and myself. nationalinterest.org/feature/five-m…
