I am in Cumbria tonight. In 1892, the ground under the railway at Lindal, Cumbria, subsided: the steam loco fell down a 200ft hole. What’s fairly well known is that it inspired a Thomas The Tank Engine story; but less well known is that 127 years later, the loco is still there
