The latest biopic? Elvis...given all the material that is out there on Elvis, tv concerts, movies, docus, etc....it takes a lot of guts to pursue such a project, no? You're competing against all that's out there...looks good, luv Austin Butler but haven't see it yet...

Continuing the biopic discussion....which one was better? Docu vs. fiction? Docu!!!! Hands down! TV series introduced some fierce performance but not much...too predictable and not tight enough....the docu on the other hand! Not predictable nor boring...watched it many times!

Great series!! Didn't expect much but was so pleasantly surprised.....luved every moment of it! Not easy to accomplish this. So easy for biopics to fail....Steve Jobs, OJ Simpson...sometimes better left alone or the docu is better. The writing, script & performance...A+

Similarity in the Korean movie "Burning" and Korean TV Series "Squid Game": Is there a difference between authoritarian regimes and capitalistic societies? Capitalism is merciless, lethal: it kills all, just like the dictatorships....this is the argument both are making

Korean movie "Burning": Antonioni's "L'Avventura" + Ozon's "Swimming Pool". In Antonioni's movie a girl disappears, creating existential & ethical anxiety. In Swimming Pool, reality and fantasy are blurred. Did the main character commit homicide? Or is it just a fantasy?

Parasite, Squid Game - great works but dark....that's how it is in ROK - North Korea, nuclear bombs, corruption, anti-US sentiment- many Commies in South Korea who nevertheless send their kids to the US and escape to the US after scamming people

Squid Game: Entertaining for sure but am I alone in thinking that many of its scenes remind me of North Korea? The first one with the big Doll killing at anything that moves: where is that possible except in a dictatorship? Capitalism = totalitarianism? Major leap

Reminds me of another suit...I know it's not the same color but still....Hitchcock's version is untouchable

Me: Hi, I'm calling from Korea to renew my NYT subscription. Customer Service: Great. We appreciate your business. Would that be South or North? Me: LOL...that would be South Dear Leader you need to get out more!

Genre I want to write: French movies I missed.... <A Man and A Woman>, <Poupees Russes> (Russian Dolls) and <Hors de Prix> (Priceless).....recently saw <La Chamade> with Catherine Deneuve and the late Michel Piccoli....the French know how to create mood...watch <Breathless>

Remake of Rebecca: saw the trailer and wasn't feeling for it too much....luv Armie Hammer though....he has so much potential.....someone just needs to explore it

Remake of Rebecca: we know the one with Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. Great performances. And of course, George Sanders of <All about Eve>, one of my favorite "villains" of all times.....want his accent. The mad housekeeper is great too....the remake.....not as intense

Genre I want to write: Sorry, missed a major one <Brokeback Mountain> in the Romance category. What about <Call Me by your Name>....great but not as raw and intense as Brokeback. I still feel the intensity of Heath & Jake (sorry for the first name basis)

Genre I want to write: Romance, Romantic Comedy So far we have Romeo and Juliet, Pride and Prejudice, Dr. Zhivago, The Way We Were, Love Story, Nine and Half Weeks, Twilight (I hope I didn't miss any major one but I'm sure I did)..... we need a new one
