Serious question... rather than polluting the earth further, why hasn't someone come up with a plan to put Bitcoin miners in an orbit around the sun. Latency back to earth wouldn't be that bad, power/cooling is "easy", and unlike LEO, it's not as hard to maintain orbit.
my son, after a little evening tv time (watching Power Rangers Time Force and Miniforce X), heads upstairs to get ready for bed. he bursts into his room, takes a fighting stance, and shouts, "TIME FORCE X!!" I nearly choked on my drink before realizing I had simply misheard him.
