Progress in research != progress in the real world. Shipping things that work in the lab at scale is a real achievement, arguably “the” real achievement. If this was not the case, we would all be enjoying substantially more cancer-free, emissions-free, fusion powered lives.
It’s simple, people in the field see progress happening continuously, paper by paper. The public sees none of that, for them it’s 0 to 1.
Mary Albertson spent 27 years at @StanfordOTL before moving to @UPIVOTCenter and, earlier this year, @GaTechOTL. She's also a past @AUTMfoundation president. Needless to say, she has a lot of wisdom to share and we're honoured she did just that: globalventuring.com/university/tal…

What a treat to meet @frankandeileen founder + @gtalumni Audrey McLoghlin and hear her incredible entrepreneurial story. I'm delighted and grateful that she will be partnering with @venturelab in support of the Female Founders Program #ProgressAndService coe.gatech.edu/news/2022/03/f…
I have never read a business plan or a balance sheet.
“The reason I don't care about balance sheets is the same reason I don't care who's leading 100 yards into a marathon.” — @paulg
The reason I don't care about business plans is that I can learn more from 5 minutes of interrogating the founders than from 10 pages of fluff they've written. The reason I don't care about balance sheets is the same reason I don't care who's leading 100 yards into a marathon.
Excited that the @BORUSG approved two mechanisms to recognize and support faculty entrepreneurship & innovation: Regents’ Innovator Leave of Absence and Regents’ Entrepreneur Designation usg.edu/policymanual/s… Thx @CadeJoiner @baratundecola + everyone who helped get it done!
#atl is great for #blacktech #startups. @thenewsoncnbc was @atdc to hear @nakiamelecio and @carbice 's @baratundecola explain why
