A thought for the holidays. If you want your kids to get ahead - let them READ FOR PLEASURE! Let them discover the joy of reading for the sheer fun of it, with no strings attached, choosing for themselves, losing themselves in imagination. Everything else will follow! #literacy
We are delighted to be supporting the amazing charity @learn2love2read which helps children in Wandsworth with their reading… and to sponsor the Felix Memorial Award, given to children who have made outstanding efforts - they will all receive a favourite book! ❤️

READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children’s life chances. So whatever else you do, please never stop helping kids find books to read & love. Never stop sharing books, talking about books, celebrating books. It'll change their lives! #literacy
READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. We need to help every single child enjoy all its lifelong benefits. That's why I'm excited to see the @Literacy_Trust National Year Of Reading - and will support it in every way I can!
Big news! 2026 has officially been announced as the National Year of Reading by @bphillipsonMP. We’re proud to join @educationgovuk to lead this national campaign to get the UK reading again. #NationalYearOfReading2026 nationalyearofreading.org.uk

People sometimes say kids don't read any more. But as a children's author who visits schools up & down the country every week, I can tell you that if you give kids access to books, help them find ones they want to read, and let them read for pleasure - THEY STILL LOVE READING!!!
We had the pleasure of hosting a very special author @heathmereschool with the utterly inspiring author, women's and refugee rights activist @OnjaliRauf. Parents, children and staff learnt why she wrote her first book 'The Boy at the Back of the Class.' A morning never to forget!

A huge thank you to @Masonic_Charity for our £5000 multi year grant #MCF grant which will help fund our early years classes. MCF.org.uk/community

Thank you to Tara from @learn2love2read who came in to talk to the children about her work, followed by answering questions from our pupil faith and school council, such as: Why is reading so important? Who is your favourite author? What is your favourite book?

We had a wonderful time @HillbrookSW17 with the legendary @whatSFSaid last week thanks to the support from @JuliaRTrust. Parents and children enjoyed an incredibly interesting and inspiring assembly and the queue to meet him after school and get books signed was very long!

Ronald Ross children in KS2 enjoyed an amazing performance and workshop of Romeo and Juliet, performed by the Polka Theatre. The acting was superb and Shakespeare's modern twist was captivating!

Our seventh inspiring author event was a massive success @ronaldrosssw19 with the wonderful @clairevlinney. The children wowed us with their knowledge of Pablo Fanque and their enthusiasm for reading. Thanks to @JuliaRTrust for making these events possible.

Thank you for your help in inspiring a community of people to love reading in Wandsworth.

What an amazing two days we have had with @SmritiPH. Assemblies in four partner schools, four parent sessions, many books dedicated and signed, a coffee morning with our volunteers and lots of talk about the power of reading. Thank you @JuliaRTrust for making this possible.

We were so excited to welcome Smriti Halls, an internationally bestselling children’s author! 🌟 Smriti led an inspiring assembly, met families for a coffee morning, and signed books for our pupils—sharing her love of storytelling with us all. Thank you to @learn2love2read
