You should trust that software will always degrade over time. The only exception is emacs.

Crazy how much Emacs stuff is actually sane to use now that I can just ask GPT5 how to fix weirdness. All sorts of cargo-culted shit in my configs that have been broken for over a decade, now it all works. It's like when I turned 32 and learned how to do Emacs search and replace.

🗓️Mark your calendars, EmacsConf is right around the corner emacsconf.org/2025/

Should we tell them about artist-mode?

How's the job market these days?

I frequently split Emacs frames into multiple windows by using C-x 2 or C-x 3 to view multiple buffers simultaneously. Alternatively, C-x 5 2 will create a new and separate frame. Those of you who prefer multiple frames to windows - what's the reason?

The org- , magit- , mo- , djcb- , etc.. prefixes in Emacs Lisp functions aren't just a solution to a global namespace. It turns your .emacs file into a digital family tree, where each prefix is a record of a developer or community member whose work has shaped your own.

C-h k <keybindings> will show you what command <keybinding> is mapped to, followed by a brief explanation of that command.

C-x r r quick tell us what that does!

M-l converts the following word to lower case. M-u converts to upper case. M-c Capitalizes the following word.

it’s okay if you don’t know every emacs command. Even the pros still stumble upon new commands from time to time, that’s half the fun.

Is it Friday yet?
