In 2020 and 2021, female students achieved more A*-A grades than male students. With the return of exams, we might have expected these gaps to close. But they haven’t (although they have narrowed since last year). Read more here ➜ ffteducationdatalab.org.uk/2022/08/a-leve… #AlevelResultsDay2022
The gap between independent schools and state selective schools has begun to return to pre-pandemic levels. The difference in entries graded A*-A was almost 14 percentage points last year but is now down to 8. Read more here ➜ ffteducationdatalab.org.uk/2022/08/a-leve… #AlevelResultsDay2022

Overall, a VERY good day to be a teacher. Great to see the hard work and dedication of so many lead to such success.
Our experience certainly today, very poor.

The section on appeals is barking. Schools will have to share the evidence on which their grade is to be determined with students BEFORE the grade is submitted! Can't see any issues there...
Williamson either has no clue how assessment worked or is outright lying here.* It is literally impossible to do what he's setting out "fairly and consistently". * Not mutually exclusive.
Gavin Williamson updating the Commons on exam plans for this summer Says the consultation had more than 100,000 responses Says the government and Ofqual “have considered all of them very carefully”
