I've spoken to around 1,000 companies over the last 6 months about their plans for remote work going forward Here are a few things I've learned [ a thread ] 💻🏠🌍
Forums are the hotbeds of people who are bothered enough with a problem to cry for help, and in most cases willing to pay good money too.
If you sit in the forums of a large SaaS business ($100mm+ ARR) you'll find loads of problems (product ideas), each worth at least $5-10k MRR with a few having much larger potential. The same goes for subreddits.
A big company can swoop in any day and create a competitor that is far more polished than your SaaS. But one thing they can’t do? Build targeted tools for specific niche.
Google Tables is not just an Airtable competitor...
Build hyper-niched solutions to problems people already pay for.
Don't know what to build? 1. Find a Saas product (A) that companies love. 2. Find a huge but tech-ignored industry (B) (Think trucking, farming, laundry)...stuff that everyone pays for directly or indirectly. Build a version of product (A) laser targeted for industry (B)...
