In 2026 I want to talk to lots of Dutch devs and devs in NL. I want opinions on what students should learn to become great software developers. Opinions from people doing the job is incredibly important. I might even organize a borrel at Rotterdam University 👀

I noticed somebody selling his old Microsoft MVP zip-up hoodie online 👀. I bought it.

I learned a lot about myself in 2025 outside of code. 1. I don’t thrive on constant repetition. The teaching, coding, and speaking mix works well for me. 2. Saying no is essential for my wellbeing. 3. Mental and physical rest needs to be scheduled in.

I'm the kind of speaker that will submit to the CFP 2 hours before the deadline

Turning 27 in a couple days. Why do I feel like a dinosaur already?

I have a love-hate relationship with AI, and I think that most experienced developers feel the same way.

A student asked me today, “Miss, can you teach me more about point net?” It took me a moment to realize they meant "dotnet". Seeing students get into the same coding topics I love all on their own is just awesome 😎👍

I decided I wanted to upgrade one of my pet projects from .NET 9 to .NET 10 yesterday while it was almost midnight. Somehow one of my unit tests broke and it took me 2 hours to figure out what changed. Luckily I'm a night owl 🙏
