We've been in shops since the peak of the virus without mandatory masks and still infections have decreased by well over 90%. Just as things are slowly getting back to normal, @BorisJohnson wants to make masks compulsory. Odd.

We are washing our hands so much we are getting through the soap quicker than ever. It really is such an effective way to stop the spread of this virus. Not to mention good hand hygiene is something we should all be aiming for anyway!
As pubs and restaurants open across England today, it’s absolutely vital that everyone follows the rules on social distancing. We’ve worked so hard and together saved so many lives. Stick to the rules this weekend, keep apart from others and wash your hands several times a day.
I know it's boring, and I know we all want this to be over and done with, but the only way that happens is if we all do our part. I'm more optimistic than most, but it can only work if people are sensible. Please be careful this weekend, especially after a few drinks.

Whilst @OfficialALW is trialling a way forward @LondonPalladium I know he is doing it to find a way for ALL theatres to reopen. This has required personal determination, personal investment and we need to applaud it. Getting @OliverDowden to the Palladium was important today

Southampton’s Nuffield Theatre is closing for good. 60yrs of investment, training & serving its community. All profitable in normal times, just needed shortfall funding while closed & it didn’t come in time So sorry to the 86 made redundant, & the locals who loved their theatre
I saw v comprehensive safety measures in place at @LondonPalladium this morning with @OfficialALW & Public Health England Despite the huge challenges, we’re working intensively with them & others to get theatres open as soon as safe and I know that panto season is key
