This is a very subtle issue which also intersects with a broader Western belief in the power of right vs. wrong word choice but....I really hope people let go of -iv/-ov name policing wrt the conflict in Ukraine. Most of the places getting destroyed are Russian speaking.

I support giving Ukraine the resources it needs to defend its people, I just have legitimate concerns about the size and scope. Btw, criticizing and questioning is my job as a leader and a member of Congress. It’s the hardest part of the job, trust me it’s easy to just follow.
Q for Ukrainians: how is Zelensky's Ukrainian? I can understand it a lot better than native speakers, which I'm guessing means there's at least a noticeable Russian accent.
Russian language does not belong to Russia. Ukrainian Russian speakers that are now fleeing, fighting and dying are proof that Russia no longer can ever claim to be the “protector of Russian-speakers”. Anywhere.
