If you love them, let them know. Always. Unreservedly. Without hesitation. Life is way too fickle to stay mum. Love them? Always let them know.

Sigweya! What a poetic, healing way to process heavy emotions that come with death. That it's also phrased directly to the deceased is incredible for expressing painful/traumatic feelings. Again, cultural intelligence dismissed as unnecessary drama.

Friends. @ADELLEO is doing a wonderful thing on her timeline. Go and see it for yourself. Because, customs, rituals, and traditions were often conceived to serve a genuine purpose. And once we understand that context, a lot begins to make sense.

For what possible fucking reason?
Caution: Mbagathi Rd, Lang'ata Road (Tmall area), Strathmore area. Police firing bullets.
I agree, because this is how people assign others the “hero tag”. Thinking they don’t feel pain as they fight for what they believe in.
Record EVERYTHING. Document EVERYTHING. Share EVERYTHING. Post EVERYTHING.
Complete with making mourners squat in line and beating them up to provoke them…despicable
This implies the existence of one.
Reading a speech with absolutely the wrong tone for the day. Oh dear. Speak from your heart.
I've also grown to appreciate mourning that's deemed dramatic. I think it was ancestral/cultural intelligence wrongly deemed unnecessary. Physical movement is brilliant in processing emotions. Unprocessed emotions sit in your physical body and cause immense PHYSICAL discomfort.
This. And yes, repressed unprocessed emotion has actual physiological impact on the body - there's research to back that. Not to mention the mental scars simply covered over, rather than tended to healing. Many "lifestyle diseases" have unprocessed emotion at their root.

There's power in words. I don't believe they were fearless - that's phrasing that inadvertently forces responsibility in the hands of a few. We all have fear. Each of us, all of us. You can see it in his eyes. The difference is those who move in conviction, in spite of fear.
They shot at people. Using live bullets. Three are dead - as far as we know. Does this help with context for you?
People in Nairobi sometimes forget that they are the minority. Airports exist to serve a % of that minority. Most Kenyans will never step in one. That you feel violated by people entering the airport should have you questioning why you, the minority, sets the rules.
Chaos didn't just "erupt". There was daylong disorganization, lack of proper planning, and lack of proper crowd control, and police shot teargas and live rounds into the crowd of mourners.
Man injured at Kasarani Stadium after chaos erupted during the public viewing of Raila Odinga’s body. NYS officers quickly respond, providing emergency medical assistance at the scene.

Stupidity and malice aren't mutually exclusive especially here in Kenya. The two elements often go together whenever the government is involved
I second this 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Dear @KenyaAirways: I don't know how possible this is, but please preserve - and perhaps release - the cockpit voice recordings from flight RAO001. There's a richness in history in those recordings that can't be put into words.
“It simply means avoid being chaotic especially when crowded and especially under this blood thirsty regime that looks for any reason to pull the trigger.” Thanks for agreeing that it’s not the mourners that are the problem.
So are police independent or not?
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen orders police to stop using tear gas on mourners at Kasarani Stadium.
Natafuta tweets za how govt abused power and killed innocent civilians yesterday kwa TL ya midusa sizioni. Instead, he is busy pushing tribalism. This 'We are in government' dweebs that will betray it's people's for a little proximity to power and state resources. Shameful.
Mr Bacteria, @rigathi. Kenyans waited for you at Kasarani today but we gathered you were still overwhelmed by grief. But not to worry, the funeral committee is pleased to inform you that we shall have another public viewing at the Nyayo Stadium, after mass, tomorrow. Don't come…
Good. Everytime we complain, they blunt the genuine concerns by applying labels that make the stories lose urgency eg: "bloggers" "Gen Z protestors" "angry activists " "disgruntled teachers/doctors /musicians"...
Security personnel assaulted citizen TV reporter @benkirui_ . the set of Suit uniformed police officers turned on media with whips. They were forcing everyone to stop recording and filming.
Hanlon's razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
The mess must be INTENTIONAL !!! HOW can they get it SO SO WRONG ???
