Whoa, my dude you're selling React Native. Of course, you have that stance. I can spot RN apps from 100000 miles away. It's like iOS app from Wish.

I read this tweet and laughed. We regularly come into companies that have full, dedicated native app teams, rebuild their entire (10+ year old) apps in React Native, and pass up their native teams who are still struggling to ship features. Then ship to the App Store / Google Play…

Ugh just ran into this.

I’ve an AppIntent where an AppEntity has a property of type IntentFile, but this property is not visible retrieving the entity via Shortcuts. Someone has the same issue? The property is declared in this way.

Pro tip if your iOS Spotlight search is slow.

Turn off "Show Content in Search" in Photos > Siri reduced the search time a lot for me. I have over 100 000 photos in the phone

`myArray[someIndex] // Fatal error: Index out of range` Wouldn't it be cool if we had a way to safely subscript an array? 😌 As it turns out, this is actually very easy to implement in Swift, thanks to custom subscripts! Let me show you how it works 🔥

Converting HEIC files to JPGs is actually built into Finder now, no need to manually use ‘Preview’ or similar.

What a time to be alive

Humans nearly went extinct about 70,000 years ago when the total population dropped down to only a few thousand people

💡 iOS has a secret feature to make its screen as dark as a Kindle so you can read at night: - go to iOS settings -> Accessibility - go to Zoom -> Zoom Filter - enable Low Light ✔️ Combine this with iOS's Smart Invert mode and you now have a low light dark mode reader

GitHub issues tip: if you paste in a link to an issue or PR in another repo it will display it as a truncated URL, but if you instead add it in a hyphenated bullet point it will display the title of the issue and and indicate if it is open or closed

Another good iOS dev tip for saving space: ImageOptim is a godsend, just trimmed 15 MB off some custom app icons.
