After worrying that I was never going to see Comet Lemmon more than a couple of times, I didn't do too badly in the end. That run of good nights in Kielder at the end of October certainly helped...

No sign of my poorly laptop coming home yet & as my old one has less memory than a drunk goldfish I can't process all the lovely FITS files of Comet Lemmon sitting in my Seestar! But I've had a go at manually aligning some of the images I took on Oct 25th...looks promising!

There was a time, back there in September, when the rain refused to stop and the clouds refused to part, that I thought I wouldn't get even one half decent image of Comet Lemmon before it headed back into the Deep Black. Glad I was wrong... :-) Image: S Atkinson
I thought I'd had my last look at Comet Lemmon but I managed to sneak in another one though a brief gap in the clouds after sunset tonight, from the car park around the back of my flat in the centre of light-polluted Kendal. Seestar S50 images, Sunday Nov 2nd 2025, 18.00-28.30.

FINALLY processed my tracked DSLR pics of Comet Lemmon taken at Kielder Star Camp a couple of weeks ago!
The clouds graciously parted to allow me to take one last Seestar image of Comet Lemmon before we head home tomorrow. The comet is past its best now and will fade quickly. You weren't a Great Comet, but I thought you were brilliant. I'm going to miss you, my Kielder Comet. :-)

Managed to grab a few more images of Comet Lemmon this evening (Sunday Oct 26th) from Kielder Campsite, Northumberland, through very brief gaps in the clouds. This is a phone-processed stack of half a dozen jpg images taken with my Seestar S50.
