I know there are lots out there but I thought I would share. For quite some time I planned on doing short videos of maths concepts in my school policy. They would be useful now, so I plan on trying to do as many as possible.
Really clear interpretation of the government’s strategy on the caronavirus.
1. The govt strategy on #Coronavirus is more refined than those used in other countries and potentially very effective. But it is also riskier and based on a number of assumptions. They need to be correct, and the measures they introduce need to work when they are supposed to.
Great when the children can access equivalent fraction word problems through the use of the bar model in year 5.
Following listening to @mrbartonmaths last night in Blackburn, we are going to give this a go as part of our fluency work.
Teaching practical shorthand division in Year 5 today. Children all had a go themselves before moving to pictorial.

Brilliant factors and multiples investigation. Children colour code multiples and then identify factor spiders from investigation.
This week I'm teaching ratio using double-sided counters: We start by introducing the context & the ratio. We represent the ratio with counters. Then one more piece of info is given e.g. the number of children - complete using the counters as below:
On a walk around school today I saw these working walls in year one.

Not a crocodile in sight!! Year 1 totally rocked in maths this morning when comparing numbers. Hopefully they will retain their awesomeness and carry this forward next week 😍😍
