Good day to share this little paper I wrote as a grad student Colonialism, Property Rights and the Modern World Income Distribution | British Journal of Political Science | Cambridge Core - bit.ly/3BIa0JL

5 @oaklandu students and Professor @DaveDulio talked about #voting on @CBS Saturday Morning today! Thank you @MacFarlaneNews and Charlie Brooks for a wonderful piece on the impact of young Michigan voters. cbsnews.com/video/meet-the… @JhelysseAnthony @PaytonBucki @GoldenGrizzlies

My only contribution to the hand wringing about elite institution folks frequently contributing to the toxic anonymous field rumor sites is to simply ask, “have you seriously never met anyone from elite institutions?”

Polity coders coming in hot. More seriously though, paper looks great and is moving to the top of my to-read pile.

The simpler explanation is that coders are being more HARSH now, potentially because they have much more information about recent democratic violations. Consistent with this explanation, backsliding has gotten SO MUCH MORE media & scholarly attention lately!📰📢 13/

Did a “guest lecture” in 3rd grade today, and some of these diagrams on my thank you cards might make it into undergrad-level lectures

State of Michigan, tapping in

The @nytopinion won’t accept my comment, so I’ll make it here. I’ve been a university professor for more than 30 years, all in state universities. The problem with college tuition costs isn’t sports complexes, administrator creep, or salary growth. 1/4 tinyurl.com/2p95u49e

No greater reward than seeing your talented students honored for their outstanding work!

Extremely proud of our university's Lauryn Magno winning the Best Undergraduate Research award at ISA-Midwest 2021! The paper was based on her capstone project with @matthew_fails!

#poliscitwitter question - I want my honors students to "publish" their findings in a @monkeycageblog like format. Which means they should read it regularly. Any way to get them access beyond individual subscription? Access through uni library is too wonky for easy navigation

update -- this paper now accepted, and at an objectively *better* journal, for what it is worth. So take that!

obviously not the most important problem right now, but I just got my first rejection after r&r. Ouch. very cool that they took 4 months to do it as well. Total time elapsed since first submission = 13 months.
