In case you don’t understand, this is a winning message for men. This is what men want to be told when they’re boys, and when they’re men. The Democrats have nothing comparable to offer men. Big trouble for them.
Why I started the poem as I did. You could see Charlie’s career go from fighter to loving teacher to, finally, martyrial witness to the truth who died when they shot his golden throat. The first three lines of the poem are a brief account of his public life, growth, & death.
