How did Trump win the popular vote? Here’s a dot map of the 2024 election by raw vote margin:

It’s honestly strange that Maryland has seen so little interest in ranked-choice voting despite very frequently having primaries that are crying out for it. Nowadays, DC, Arlington, and even several localities IN Maryland are adding RCV, but the state seems broadly uninterested

depending on how the last votes shake out, Aftyn Behn may win this primary despite losing every single county lol

It’s a pretty tall order, but the TN-07 is the kind of quiet, low-turnout special that really could be a sleeper flip for Dems. If they put up an overperformance like they have in recent specials, they end up well within striking distance

And as soon as I post this, Nashville drops! #TN07 Democratic primary: Aftyn Behn- 26.7% Bo Mitchell- 26.4% Vincent Dixie- 25.6% Darden Copeland- 21.3% Behn is only up by 68 votes! x.com/Uncrewed/statu…

Suck it up conservatives, the libs are getting football, beer, and now country music in the national divorce

No name Country artist Zach Bryan, slams ice for deporting criminal illegal immigrants. It's a stretch calling him an "artist" because he has no talent!

underrated story of this election is that we have a few data points that suggest Youngkin’s approval is softening, and that’s basically the only wind at Republicans’ back in VA

New Virginia poll from Washington Post/Schar Gov Spanberger (D) 55% Earle-Sears (R) 43% LG Hashmi (D) 49% Reid (R) 45% AG Jones (D) 51% Miyares (R) 45% Trump Approval 55% Disapprove 45% Approve Youngkin Approval 50% Approve 46% Disapprove Done right before shutdown

The Bronx's Hudson and Sound coasts are much whiter and more suburban in nature than the rest of the dense, majority-minority borough. Politically, their similarities stop there — the west's blue Riverdale blends in while the eastern coast has the reddest parts of the borough.

Guy who thinks Trump’s gains in the Rio Grande Valley are evidence of Republican strength with suburbanites because he classifies Laredo, McAllen, and Brownsville as wealthy suburbs of Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, and Matamoros

I think it’s also important to remember that this same poll found that 10% of voters thought Donald Trump was too liberal, and you never ever hear anyone discuss this equally large (if not larger) portion of the electorate

Most of us on here are in the 9% and I think it'd behoove us to remember that we are in an ideological bubble

The 1989 Virginia gubernatorial election was a big moment for the state and the country. Nationwide, Doug Wilder was the first Black governor ever fairly elected to the office. The nailbiter also saw modern trends take shape, as Wilder did very well in NoVa and poorly in SW VA.
