It's wild to me that a DNC political strategist, former Buttiegieg advisor, former Obama campaign director could start a NY Mayor campaign PAC, take $500k from a CATO institute billionaire and somehow Andrew Yang gets blamed for it.

“Americans prefer X, which is why we must use the law to ban anything that isn’t X” is just such a funny thing to come out of someone whose bio says “reader of Hayek”. Apparently if Americans’ favorite soda is Coca-Cola, we must use the law to ban Sprite, Pepsi, and Doctor Pepper

Also, people's actions (70% of Americans live in single-family homes) are better than "surveys on lifestyle preferences," but since you want surveys, 75% of Americans prefer small towns, suburbs and rural areas. Only 9% prefer "big cities" (e.g., density). americansurveycenter.org/research/publi…

A lawyer for the law firm Consovoy McCarthy, which argued both cases to kill affirmative action and to kill student debt cancellation, was just caught sending money to Clarence Thomas's clerk, with memos that make it clear it was for Thomas's birthday theguardian.com/us-news/2023/j…

This strategy doesn't work with universal basic income. Looking forward to unions finally realizing this fact.

We have a plurality problem, and the only solution is #RankedChoiceVoting

The @GOP could easily solve this dilemma by using #RankedChoiceVoting in their presidential primaries. Do they really want to nominate a losing presidential candidate because one candidate with a >60% unfavorability rating lost in Alaska? #ksleg thehill.com/homenews/campa…

I’m not allowed to use pictures from committee rooms, so to give you a sense of the experience, I asked A.I. to create an image of “a male politician in a committee room holding a can of Monster Energy.” Here’s the glorious image it produced:

One more observation: There was a sideroom in the back of the committee that had snacks and Monster energy drinks and some members of Congress started drinking those Monsters at 10am. Looking back, I should’ve known that was a sign of the kind of “debate” we were about to have.

Ranked choice voting improves elections by letting voters communicate much richer data about their preferences. That’s good news, not bad, for both Republicans and Democrats in search of high‐quality candidates. bit.ly/3oPgIYa
