It's wild to me that a DNC political strategist, former Buttiegieg advisor, former Obama campaign director could start a NY Mayor campaign PAC, take $500k from a CATO institute billionaire and somehow Andrew Yang gets blamed for it.
Even Democrats agree! 👇

“Americans prefer X, which is why we must use the law to ban anything that isn’t X” is just such a funny thing to come out of someone whose bio says “reader of Hayek”. Apparently if Americans’ favorite soda is Coca-Cola, we must use the law to ban Sprite, Pepsi, and Doctor Pepper
Also, people's actions (70% of Americans live in single-family homes) are better than "surveys on lifestyle preferences," but since you want surveys, 75% of Americans prefer small towns, suburbs and rural areas. Only 9% prefer "big cities" (e.g., density). americansurveycenter.org/research/publi…
A lawyer for the law firm Consovoy McCarthy, which argued both cases to kill affirmative action and to kill student debt cancellation, was just caught sending money to Clarence Thomas's clerk, with memos that make it clear it was for Thomas's birthday theguardian.com/us-news/2023/j…

Does UBI (universal basic income) encourage laziness or economic growth?

Clarence Thomas out here taking bribes on venmo like he's a teenaged girl going to matt gaetz house
This strategy doesn't work with universal basic income. Looking forward to unions finally realizing this fact.
Hollywood Studios reportedly are waiting for striking writers to go broke “The endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses,”
Donald Trump is suddenly concerned about a "grave threat to our democracy." Tell him not to look in a mirror today.

We have a plurality problem, and the only solution is #RankedChoiceVoting
The @GOP could easily solve this dilemma by using #RankedChoiceVoting in their presidential primaries. Do they really want to nominate a losing presidential candidate because one candidate with a >60% unfavorability rating lost in Alaska? #ksleg thehill.com/homenews/campa…
New from @MercuryVirginia: This year a #Virginia energy corporation spent $7 million on a slate of candidates... and that's just in the primary. virginiamercury.com/2023/07/11/mil…
I’m not allowed to use pictures from committee rooms, so to give you a sense of the experience, I asked A.I. to create an image of “a male politician in a committee room holding a can of Monster Energy.” Here’s the glorious image it produced:
One more observation: There was a sideroom in the back of the committee that had snacks and Monster energy drinks and some members of Congress started drinking those Monsters at 10am. Looking back, I should’ve known that was a sign of the kind of “debate” we were about to have.
Seeing or not seeing a movie isn't going to help stop child abuse or exploitation. I recommend donating and supporting organizations like @RAINN instead. They have helped rescue millions of people from abuse. Follow them here on Twitter and visit rainn.org for…
Republicans cry about student debt while their pals get billions in PPP loans forgiven. They pull the rug out from Black college students on Affirmative Action, but roll out red carpet for legacy admissions. RT if you agree GOP members of Congress are #NotTheBrightest.
Ranked choice voting improves elections by letting voters communicate much richer data about their preferences. That’s good news, not bad, for both Republicans and Democrats in search of high‐quality candidates. bit.ly/3oPgIYa
Where is the line between ‘mental health’ and life is hard/bad things happened to me and I need to cope with it/etc.? I worry we medicate/‘therapize’ issues that are fixable by other means.
