This may be true, but some perspective please. 0.4% of people who eat 21g of bacon will have an increased chance of getting cancer. This rises to 0.48% if you eat an exuberant 76g of bacon a day. It is still nowhere near the risk imposed by smoking. bbc.co.uk/news/health-47…

This morning, I received an email from my PhD advisor that was so encouraging and kind, it made me tear up a bit. I finished my PhD almost 14 years ago. Great mentors are mentors for life. If you’re just starting out, choose your PhD advisor wisely. You deserve a great mentor.
