. @LaGovJeffLandry has signed into law HB173 by Republican Rep. Bryan Fontenot to make it a crime to approach within 25 feet of a police officer on the job if the officer orders the person to stop. Violations carry up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. #lalege
The @NOLACityCouncil funded this program as the article states, and we were proud to work with advocates to do so, but like many other projects departments have failed to make expenditures to move forward. Will hold a public hearing to get to the bottom of this delay.
