Entering this year many people thought they would be 5x - 10x wealthier than they are right now, because they owned MSTR or MSTR calls.
The OG Bitcoin whales are selling Bitcoin, because it doesn’t make sense for them (or 99% of people for that matter) to be ~100% allocated. This is something I’ve changed my mind on over the last year.
This is part of why I think this sell off is temporary and likely a decent buying opportunity. However, it’s hard to say for sure over the short term. We could head lower in the next few weeks.

Jeff Ross made a prediction 13 months ago: "At Halloween 2025 we'll be at $475K."
This is another reason it’s great to work with bitcoiners… They don’t even blink at a 30% drop. Meanwhile most advisors are worried about 100% equity index allocation because their clients can’t handle the volatility… lol
This is such a dangerous narrative and is going to lose so many people so much money in the coming years Ignoring fundamentals and investment mix for a moment, anyone who does this for a living will tell you that a shockingly low % of the population can handle being in a 100%…
I finally grasped this over the last year when I watched (while participating) the precious metals mining sector sky rocket while Bitcoin did nothing.
This makes a lot of sense.

Make sure your retirement plan is accounting for the chance we’ve seen the Bitcoin top. Don’t ignore reality and allow a bear market to throw you off track long term. I’m not saying we’ve seen it for sure, but there’s a chance.

I don’t even check the Bitcoin price anymore… I check gold and silver way more often, because they are driving VERY strong returns in precious metals miners this year. When Bitcoin wakes up this may change, but for now we’ll take advantage of performance elsewhere.
This is also dangerous thinking for those borrowing against their Bitcoin right now. Again, manage risk appropriately as if this WILL happen. You don’t want to lose your Bitcoin.
“There are no more 4 year cycles” is dangerous thinking for those entering retirement right now. Better to plan for a 50-70% drawdown and not experience it, than to not plan for it and it happens.
