We're celebrating 52 years of hip hop this week as part of #BlackMusicSummer. The posse cut used to be an epic event, whether it was folks from the same crew or just artists who rocked with each other. What's your ultimate posse cut? (And feel free to add why)!
Aug 11th was the 52nd anniversary of Cindy Campbell's back-to-school jam, where her big brother DJ Kool Herc looped break beats using a two turntable set up. In honor of hip hop's birthday, share the song(s) you would start with if you were teaching hip hop 101. (And why??)
This week is the battle royale of music opinions: Covers vs Originals. Let's all admit up front that opinions are usually heavily subjective and based on factors including age/era... but let's argue anyway :). What cover (or covers) do you insist tops the original? (Post both!)

Today is #MusicSermon's EIGTH ANNIVERSARY!!! 🎂🍾 It all started with a thread about how we danced hard AF in the 90s (and we'll revisit that this week), so it's only appropriate that for Wk 4 of #BlackMusicSummer, you share the songs that have you put in a whole ass work out!
Another increasingly rare feature in R&B is the monologue. Sometimes artists just had to get the words out plain; singing alone wasn't gonna do it. They needed to emphasize the point! For week 3 of #BlackMusicSummer, share songs where the monologue was the main feature.
