No, it is 100% certain because of the turnstiles — on-chain audits of the total supply. It shows that the supply guarantee is intact. Here is a web display of that on-chain data: zechub.wiki/dashboard (The pool that was vulnerable is in purple.)

Re: 3 -- I think over time more and more things that used to require the transparency will be possible using ZKPs, such that the ability to be transparent will be mostly vestigial. That said, I never understood the argument that optional transparency is a flaw. Just don't use it?

My wife always had this clever thing when our kids were young and fights would happen. Sometimes a kid would run crying to us saying "He hit me!" like they'd been attacked for no reason. My wife would always ask, "Ok, but happened right BEFORE that? Did you do something…

Bad take First, only in crypto (DEX's in particular) is there this kind of transparency. *Everyone* can see the action that this account took. Nowhere in tradfi is such a thing possible. Second, that a whale likely had knowledge of a soon-to-be-public global news event, is not…

Crypto is a rigged casino, and today’s events prove it beyond doubt. A single colossal BTC whale shorted at the peak, then, just minutes before the market-shattering crash, piled on millions more in shorts. At the very bottom of the drop, he closed 90% of his Bitcoin short and…

It's strong because: 1) it's a pure-play on one of the few *core* ideas uniquely enabled by crypto: strong financial privacy. And yes this is tied to money/sov. 2) because of #1, zec had huge hype early on. Hit $900 in 2017, lots of deep-pocketed backers. Chart has subsequently…

Exactly, privacy isn’t about guilt, it’s about control. It’s the shield that keeps power from being abused, and freedom from being taken. Everyone deserves that, whether they’ve done something "wrong" or not.

"I don't care about privacy, I’m not doing anything wrong.” Neither are many people who are blacklisted, silenced, or imprisoned under authoritarian regimes. Privacy isn’t about hiding wrongdoing, it’s about preventing abuse of power.
