Tide forecasts are escalating for the #Miami area. Water levels could reach the highest since Nov 10, 2022 when Hurricane Nicole's passage coincided with an already-high #KingTide. As of now, the forecasts peak on Monday... about 5 inches above the moderate flooding threshold.

With yesterday's flooding, Virginia Key and 3 of the 4 sites in South Florida finally do not have any tidal flooding in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Vaca Key where tidal floodings is likely to continue for at least the next 7 days.
A very high tide this morning, reaching 1.37' MHHW (just above the minor flood threshold), was nailed 10 days ago by our tide forecast model.
After a brief dip in the tides lately, forecast water levels are once again at or above the NWS minor flood threshold in #Miami beginning in 9-10 days (Oct 15-16). Details at bmcnoldy.earth.miami.edu/tide/

Tidal flooding in Vaca Key (near Marathon, FL) has been occurring daily since Thursday, Sep 21. Unfortunately, this trend is expected to continue for at least the next ten days. The highest water levels are expected around 10-3 before tapering off by the weekend of 10-7.
