#ADHD can make “basic” things difficult. THINGS I STRUGGLE WITH: ❌ regulating sleep schedule ❌ cooking ❌ cleaning ❌ making doctor/dentist appts ❌ sense of job security ❌ maintaining friendships ❌ consistent hygiene routines (skin/teeth) ❌ general life stability
Hey #teamADHD, I've got another question: In what ways does #ADHD impact your ability to fulfill basic needs (food, sleep, etc.) Answers may be used in an upcoming episode of our podcast? #neurodiversesquad #whatwasisayingadhd
MEDICATION 1. Notice I'm running low and recognise need to act 2. Visit the practice to place request (won't accept telephone, full time worker with packed schedule) 3. Visit the practice again to pick up script 4. Take script to pharmacist 5. Pick up meds from pharmacist
It took me a LONG time as a nt mom of ADHD child to understand that "go clean your room" isn't one thing, it's 800 zillion steps, each with its own distractions.
More often than I like to admit I fail at step 4 and have to wash a load twice. 😳 It's an out of sight out of mind thing!
#ADHD kryptonite = having to wait between steps L A U N D R Y: - wash - wait - dry - wait - move clothes from dryer to hamper D I S H W A S H E R: - load - run - wait - move from dishwasher to cabinets
fucking YES this is so true it’s a million different micro-decisions i’m the same way with grocery shopping “should i get this one? how much is it? should i even buy it?” by the time i finally get home, i’m so tired. too tired to put things away

Me cooking: 1. Make shopping list 2. Impulse buy anyway 3. Unpack/put away whilst snacking 4. Decide to cook tomorrow 5. Get put off by housemates mess in kitchen next day 6. Eat bread/crisps/fruit 7. Repeat all week 8. Throw away mouldy food while cursing! 😅
One of the biggest mistakes I made in my early career was not asking enough questions. If you're confused, or struggled to find a solution on your own, don't be afraid to ask for help.

We know #accessibility is the responsibility of folks like devs, designers, content writers, project managers, etc. Why stop there? Imagine how orgs would view accessibility when treated as a first-class citizen from its CEO, COO, & CTO. We _all_ have a role to play. #a11y

Sooo I've been playing with the new @figmadesign API and made this *very experimental* @GraphQL connector. You can see where this is going, right? 😜 #CSSinGQL #designtools #graphql github.com/braposo/figma-…
Styled System recently hit 1k stars so I gave the docs a refresh – if you're building a design system with React, this might be worth checking out github.com/jxnblk/styled-…
Today’s historic pic: A three-car Comeng electric set departs Werribee, Vic on a trip to Melbourne, March 22, 1986. Comeng trains still run here but these days they are 6 car sets. In 1995 the interstate standard gauge line to Adelaide was built on the right of this scene.
