Congratulations to @gavinrprice of @numerical_brain @vupeabody for being selected as a 2021 Chancellor Faculty Fellows at Vanderbilt University! Great to see your work being recognized in this way! news.vanderbilt.edu/2021/05/12/nin…
I am accepting applications for PhD students this year in the neuroscience and/or psychology programs, to study neural basis of numerical cognition. Please send interested students my way! numericalbrainlab.com
1/9 I’d like to highlight our recently published, open access manuscript in @netneurosci titled “Network topology of symbolic and nonsymbolic number comparison”. @numerical_brain doi.org/10.1162/netn_a…
Let's chat science! @OHBM poster today #674 and talk on Friday @ 7pm (talk link: bitly.com/3draBOl) In work with @BenNConrad and @gavinrprice, we investigated individual differences in decoding symbolic and nonsymbolic number. #OHBM2020Posters #OHBM2020
I have a video conference for my #VSS2020 poster now (also times scheduled for M & Tu next week). Link for today: vanderbilt.zoom.us/j/99214486659 ... Here @gavinrprice and I looked at functional coupling of the "number form area" in kindergartners during numeral processing.
Congrats to our PI for achieving this major milestone!🥂
I'm thrilled to announce that @gavinrprice is now officially tenured at #vupeabody 🎉 Gavin is not only an excellent scientist and mentor, he's also been amazingly generous with with me and other jr faculty, sharing materials & advice. I'm so pleased to have him as a colleague.
Full time 2-year lab coordinator position available in my lab (Cognitive Development Lab, Wesleyan U) starting this summer. Please RT! careers.wesleyan.edu/postings/7217
Check out our recent paper on the link between estimation ability and math competence by @darrenjyeo & @gavinrprice - partly a follow-up of our previous paper bit.ly/2uVLXF4 with @EricDWilkey
Why are individuals who are better at estimating the number of items in a set also better at #math, and vice versa? We investigated this Q in college students here: rdcu.be/b1I2v Thread👇🏼
Vanderbilt University invites applications from talented students for their PhD concentration in #edneuroscience @numerical_brain

Registered replication report, Investigating the visual number form area (NFA), is out: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs… I learned a lot from this work with @NumCogLab & @numerical_brain. #openscience We tested whether the NFA can be reliably located with fMRI and a passive viewing task.
At #FluxNYC2019? @BenNConrad will be presenting findings from an fMRI study of numerical symbol processing in kindergartners (focusing on the ventral visual stream) at the flash talk session and poster session (1-P-141) today!
Landed in #Newark and in route to #NewYork for #FluxNYC2019! Looking forward to my first @Flux_Congress, presenting a flash talk and poster tomorrow on our #fMRI study of digit processing in kindergartners. @numerical_brain

New research out from my time with @numerical_brain investigating the impact of numerical alternative facts (yes, these are lies about numbers) and the flexibility of numeral-numerosity mapping. There is a lot of variability in how malleable our perception is!
Adults tend to readily modify estimates of quantities when given feedback. Why do some people show more or less malleability in mapping exact numbers and quantities than others? @darrenjyeo, @EricDWilkey & @gavinrprice examined this here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Thanks to wonderful mentors for making things happen @NumCog @numerical_brain !
Very proud of my former PhD student @EricDWilkey who has received a prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship to work with @NumCog! Congrats Eric!!!
