Some redemption, I reckon. Softbank's VC arc has been an unmitigated disaster. Son was skilful with finding Alibaba, but then on, the man has a reverse-midas touch.
I guess that is Softbank's insurance if Sam Altaman goes duh in OpenAI...Masayoshi Son can beef up OpenAI by this Robotics portfolio...
SoftBank has a pretty lousy track record in tech investments.
