I’ll give India this, It’s building subway systems at a 2000s China like pace, and this is also extending into airport construction as well. Mumbai opened a new subway line and an airport today. Mumbai in a decade or two might be considered the latest in a long line of…

I mean, subway are a bare minimum. And of course, one unveiled in 2025 is going to look a lot better than those unveiled decades ago. A country's premier financial capital, getting subways in 2025, is stark and unheard of.

This is a new line, Not the first line, An expanded line that connects as well to a new international airport, Don’t be a Chinese guy who looks down on Indian progress, it makes you look white.

People always say India is ungovernable & over regulated but they’re still able to build subway systems & all kinds of infrastructure that we can’t here in America. Interesting.

Even tier 2 Indian cities have subway systems now. It’s been an absolute binge over the past decade. They also will have HSR before anywhere in the states. People are talking about shit about India like how they used to talk shit about china(including Chinese people who…

"Oh India will be the next big thing! Just wait 30 years!" That was what Goh Chok Tong told us Sinkies back in the 90s, over 30 years ago and it is still sheet. Contrast to where China was in the 90s to now. But I guess you will learn things the hard way.

Imagine hating on India from Singapore, just go out and enjoy Sinkieland lah.

main issue i found was the pedestrian environment is terrible for getting to / from subway stations

This is a general Asian feature when it comes to subway systems, so the last mile still depends on vehicle transit of some kind.

Don’t let Jayant bhandari see this hes going to freak out seeing any Indian praise post

That guy is a weirdo.

What exactly changed for India that lead to this

And the UK still gives them taxpayer funded aid. 🤣

Seems you get impressed very easily. Give it some time, let it be used. Only then we will know how good it actually is.

The underground infra is good. But the pedestrian infra once you exit the station is atrocious. Look at Google Street View for their metro stations.

Anybody who visited Mumbai recently will not include them in superstar cities.

India needs cleanliness drive “ swatch Bharat” .. a quarter of issues reduces ..

Except they are at 1/3 of the China rate for the 2000's...

troysalts's tweet image. Except they are at 1/3 of the China rate for the 2000's...

India has done 37km per year in the last few years, China did 100km per year for the full 2000-2010 period and 500km per year in the last few years ... It's 90's China pace to be realistic

Give it six decades. Much more accurate.

Why guess when you can know?
