DTOs are useful for read-only projections. If you need to fetch DTOs, just fetch them directly from the query. Don't fetch entities, only to use a mapper to create DTOs. That's very inneficient, yet I keep on seeing this anti-pattern being promoted.
Need to expose data loaded by Hibernate to a @QuarkusIO REST endpoint? This solution is far better than exposing the entity directly: decouple the models, won't need to load relations in a different transaction, and won't need custom interceptors in the serialization layer.
