Busy night in the lab @LSIDubai with the MSc S&C students testing the @MiddlesexDubai Women’s basketball team on measures of maximal, ballistic and reactive strength, anaerobic power and capacity
🆕”Starters & attackers experienced earlier ACL injuries, with similar timing across contact mechanisms & situational patterns” ➡️These injuries likely reflect ⬆️ intensities earlier in matches ⚽️ 👉@m_buckthorpe @FDellaVilla et al, 2025 🏴 📂Open Access: esskajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ks…

SQ early post ACLr identifies inter-limb asymmetry. SLSQ reduced ACLr limb displacement and knee flexion with intra-limb (hip) compensation (due to higher force demands). This is more pronounced with meniscus and LET procedures @VALDPerformance resources.valdperformance.com/practitioners-… @LSIDubai
Impact index differences are visible when the ACLr limb is completing the step down from the box & can easily be measured and observed via the force time curve. Progression over time indicates improved knee control @VALDPerformance @LSIDubai resources.valdperformance.com/practitioners-…
A sensitive early phase kinetic assessment we use post ACLr is the step down to identify differences in control leading to a high impact index. Progression over time tracks similar to quad strength see @VALDPerformance free ACL guide resources.valdperformance.com/practitioners-… @LSIDubai
We then discussed how we use force-time analysis to provide context to athletic movement using jumping as an example
Great session by @NimaiParmar on all things sports performance analysis @LSIDubai today with a clear emphasis on practical application
