Hey @Windows -- when I've switched to my "programmers" desktop, and running the file explorer in the "programmers" desktop, and I click an HTML file: Open the file in the same damn desktop. Don't switch to the "dinking around" desktop. That's the wrong one.

The reason my antique kiln could only get up to 700 degress is ... the gauge glass had shifted and was blocking the needle. It's up to 1500 degrees now after 10 minutes of warming. Next up: replace the door insulation.

The nice people at @hilton twitter have confirmed that the best way to contact the front desk is to just complain on twitter. Don't bother with the web site or trying to call the hotel. Just bitch on twitter for everyone to see is the preferred way to communicate.

Is there a worse customer experience than @Hilton ? I want to make sure that I can arrive very late for my hotel stay. Is there a way to leave a note via the web? No. But is there a useful chat bot? Also no. But can I call the front desk? Also no.

Something I don't understand about today's politics: in my state, there's a wonky ballet question. Reasonable people can absolutely have a different POV about whether to vote yes or no. And AFAICT, it's not been politicized. So why are the results so party driven?

I'm just a boy, listening to @amazonmusic and not wanting to here bachobel's fucking canon in fucking D again. the first time was irritating, but now you're on version number six in the same damn morning.

"I do have an engine hoist and a willingness to do something stupid" (from Blondiehacks)

"... The student quickly employs the content of Chap. IX and welcomes opportunities to further its application." Elements of Nomography (1947). Given that the textbook is a heavy slog, I bet few of the students welcomed anything but the end of the semester.

Hey @premera -- when you send a text about an important message in the app, my assumption is that you've cancelled my insurance. Instead it's always "did you know you can see a doctor?" That's actually something I already knew. I didn't need you to hassle me to tell me.

Microcredentials Boost Employment in High-Tech Sectors spectrum.ieee.org/microcredentia… Bad articles like this make me glad I resigned my IEEE membership. So many words distinguishing "certification" from "credential", but no hint about costs or IEEE membership requirements.

Hey @clipchamp -- did you know that on Windows with a small screen, you can't save to OneDrive? That's because your brilliant UX people didn't add any kind of scrolling on the "Save" screen, and the actual OneDrive controls are off-screen!

Hey #MicrosoftStore -- any update on fixing the Visual Studio bug where it can't build the .appxbundle files that the store requires? learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/answers/… It's been MONTHS, and it's still broken.

My final diagram of what classes and methods I need in order to take a series of byte[] arrays in PNG format and display to the screen and make an MP4. Windows docs do a terrible job of showing how these classes interrelate.

Hey @transportgovuk below is the password reset email I got from icomera. Note that the lack contrast between the foreground and background make this email entirely unfit for purpose. Fire icomera and pull the work in-house and you'll get better results for less money.

Hey @HiltonHotels -- passkey is a waste of time? I booked 3 rooms for a wedding. 2 are fine. The 3rd is in a limbo state where passkey says it's booked, but you say nope. And nobody can do anything. Pass has no customer support, and Hilton people just want me to buy a time share

The @HiltonHotels "digital assistant" is providing the slowest service. Maybe waiting in the phone queue would have been faster

Hey @HiltonHotels -- I asked for a callback because I have a weird question that your website doesn't and can't answer. "calling me back" right away to tell me I'm in a hour-long queue isn't even slightly what I want.
