Jules Feiffer, the long-time cartoonist for NYC's Village Voice magazine, died today at age 95. I photographed him in NYC at the 2013 NYC Literary Honors ceremony at Gracie Mansion, the home of then Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

On New Year's Day the MUMMERS PARADE is an annual event in Philadelphia. Thousands of marchers gather in clubs like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I'm not sure anyone knows what a Mummer is, but they prepare all year. This is my 4th time going and it was cold this year.

NY ComicCon is the pinnacle of Cosplay events & it's held in the heart of Manhattan. I have been photographing costumed people for the last year & I've been aching to go to this one. Though Joker & Beetlejuice were popular, I concentrated on the more obscure characters.

During my summer trip to Portland, Oregon, I had a wonderful time at the Japanese Gardens, connecting with park visitors & then capturing great memories with my friends in the welcoming city of "Portlandia".

As a tourist this past summer in Los Angeles I used the opportunity of being an outsider and made portraits of Angelenos in their habitat: The Getty Museum of Art, Father Serra Plaza & Union Station.

Beacon, NY is a wonderful small town in the Hudson Valley. Beacon is warm & artsy with great donuts & coffee. The annual Spirit of Beacon Parade was held a couple of weeks ago and I made portraits of some of the Beaconites who attended.

The annual ASBURY PARK ZOMBIE WALK took place on the ocean boardwalk a few days ago. Zany, Creepy, Weird New Jersey. One told me that this is what he looks like normally & it was the only day that he could go outside & blend in #zombies #asburypark #fineartphotography #rolleiflex

It was so nice that high school friends came to Montclair, NJ to see my latest art exhibit, ALTER EGOS. I had a fun time explaining the genesis of my show, talking about art and catching up. Thank you Steve, Eden, Karen & Joe. The show is open during business hours until Nov. 11
