«I believe that scientific knowledge has fractal properties, that no matter how much we learn, whatever is left, however small it may seem, is just as infinitely complex as the whole was to start with» — Isaac Asimov (I Asimov, 1995)

Wally Wallington demonstrated how a single person can manipulate massive monoliths, or how they could have been moved in ancient times. He claims that a pyramid could be completed using primitive tools in 25-year with only 520 workers.

Another example of us not inventing 3D printing! :)

Butterflies & moths aren't the only insects that spin cocoons. Some chrysomelidae leaf beetles (instead of a silky & fabric-like substance) use a process with a foamy secretion which vaguely resemble a 3D printing process [source: buff.ly/2Zl6RcG]

Curious or peckish? Very cute though!

Great to see this! :)

This is like the mosquito in Amber from Jurrasic Park of minerals. Time capusule made of diamond. Great name too! :) newscientist.com/article/229689…

Could watch these all day. Amazing how this simple construction can have endless possibilities.

A Moore curve is a continuous fractal space-filling curve which is a variant of the Hilbert curve. Precisely, it is the loop version of the Hilbert curve and it can also be drawn with epicycles bit.ly/2v8L9qI | bit.ly/2w9QxOI [source: bit.ly/2otNPOZ]

Fantastic article by Siemens Robin Bornoff discussing empirical and computational analysis of fluid dynamics, mechanical and optical properties of fluids and rheoscopic fluids. There's a great simulation of a Vortex Dome! blogs.sw.siemens.com/simulating-the…

Experimenting with ideas for possible future Advanced Gyro accessories. Thought I'd post some here. Quite enjoying this stand 😃 #advancedgyro #gyro #gyroscope #spinningtop #edc #physicstoy #sciencetoy #desktoy #executivetoy #inspiration #workingfromhome

PhysicsHack Advanced Gyro. Unique Gyroscope and spinning top with an infinte drive ratio, can be started simply, and even sped up while in use. Gyros are far more interesting on their side! #gyro #gyroscope #spinningtop #edc #physicstoy #sciencetoy #desktoy #executivetoy

Can anyone help me explain this??? The rotating magnet has poles radially, & the levitated mag has its N pole up. This doesn't work if the S pole is upwards.. it can work axially at the tip of the rotor too?!?!?!? #magneticlevitation #magnet #levitation #magnets #science #physics
