Except when "sending patches" means sending an entire new version, so we can compute a patch between the two patches from the youngest common ancestor between our version and yours to try and figure out how to apply your "patch"… #git Or you could send patches.

It's a shame to see such a useful tool can be so popular and yet so frustrating to use. Hopefully @pijul_org will continue surpassing git in the realm of user experience and provide a truly delightful way to version control a project :)

One of Git’s problems: It doesn’t compose well. Its actions and states don’t compose well with its own states / actions. The UI reflects this. My experience is that due to its model, Pijul has easily captured things I *expected* Git could do—but couldn’t. pijul.org/model/
If you read the replies, you can see that git falls into the class of software where: People who don't understand it say that it's simple and easy to use and experts say the UI is a total disaster. I wonder what other software is like this and what it says about the software.

It seems impossible to me that Git would be around forever. That's a loooong time. 🤭 I think Git is adequate, but far from perfect. Its snapshotting is not user-friendly (more at dangitgit.com), a patch-based approach (e.g. @pijul_org) would be better. (1/2)
