The hype: "Our AI supports a billion zillion tokens" Reality: all the code and chat UIs summarize and trim conversations after a few 10s of thousands of tokens. Ironically, you have to write custom API code if you want to do anything significant.
One of the best self-teaching moments in my career was installing Linux on a machine, and then going through *every single file*, every binary, every library, every etc config nonsense and learning what each did. Highly recommended. Start with a small distro like Raspbian. :-)
