Denied Ride Access Passes @THORPEPARK today for my Autistic son & daughter with Long Covid despite both having valid Merlin Ride Access Cards. Had to pay £80 for fast track tickets to keep my daughter from being in an unsafe physical situation. Letting down people with disability

Proud to share my first publication in a peer reviewed journal. This is a topic that is very important to me being myself an autistic mother of an autistic child. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/13…

My first proper publication

Great to see @radevsa dclin thesis work on autistic mothers' experiences of statutory services out and open access

Autistic People Speak About Person-First Language. Personally I will always use identity-first language and say I am Autistic, rather than I have Autism, because it is not something to be ashamed of and I do not exist without it. buzzfeednews.com/article/emerso…

Super excited and thankful to be starting training in Clinical Psychology today. A different beginning to previous years, with lots of lectures on Zoom, but very exciting .

Extremely impressed with Harry Potter Studio tours comprehensive Autism Guide outlining in detail and with pictures what to expect at each stage of the tour 👏 @wbtourlondon

Reading was one of my special interests as a child. Books are safe. The have a pre-planned ending, and emotions and peoples thoughts are carefully explained...unlike in real life. They can be an invaluable tool for autistic girls to understand people.

This was all viewed as my love for reading, which it was. But it was more than that. Because my obsessive special interest wasn’t trains or something else stereotypically autistic, no-one realised I was autistic. This is often the case for many autistic girls. #ActuallyAutistic

Never mind stockpiling toilet roll, we’ll only be stocking up on Bernard Matthews Turkey Dinosaurs since without them our Autistic son will starve! Really feel for all out there with similar restrictions and hope all are able to get through these difficult times. @brnrdmtthws

A service user at Pinetree Hospital set himself a clear life objective to live independently. He expects to transition to a community home very soon and wants to share a blog he's co-produced showing what he's been doing to achieve his goal. …earningdisabilitydiary.simplesite.com

I love running this drama group for Autistic children. I’m a strong believer in the power of drama to support development of social skills, and we have such great kids who attend 😊

Another great drama session today 😀🏴‍☠️🎭
