Every time we train a great new model I need to frantically try to write a new take home that the model can’t defeat so we can still hire post-release. This one was tough, many drafts based on real problems fell before Claude Code’s “ultrathink” and needed to be scrapped.

It was a lot of fun working on this. Try it out!

Introducing Claude Opus 4.5: the best model in the world for coding, agents, and computer use. Opus 4.5 is a step forward in what AI systems can do, and a preview of larger changes to how work gets done.

We disrupted a highly sophisticated AI-led espionage campaign. The attack targeted large tech companies, financial institutions, chemical manufacturing companies, and government agencies. We assess with high confidence that the threat actor was a Chinese state-sponsored group.

Introducing Claude Haiku 4.5: our latest small model. Five months ago, Claude Sonnet 4 was state-of-the-art. Today, Haiku 4.5 matches its coding performance at one-third the cost and more than twice the speed.

Introducing Claude Sonnet 4.5—the best coding model in the world. It's the strongest model for building complex agents. It's the best model at using computers. And it shows substantial gains on tests of reasoning and math.

As a researcher at a frontier lab I’m often surprised by how unaware of current AI progress public discussions are. I wrote a post to summarize studies of recent progress, and what we should expect in the next 1-2 years: julian.ac/blog/2025/09/2…

Excited to share our interview with @sedielem! This is Part 3 in our History of Diffusion series. We talk about diffusion as spectral autoregression, diffusion language models, flow matching, and much more. Enjoy!

Very excited to share our interview with @DrYangSong. This is Part 2 of our history of diffusion series — score matching, the SDE/ODE interpretation, consistency models, and more. Enjoy!

Introducing Claude 3.7 Sonnet: our most intelligent model to date. It's a hybrid reasoning model, producing near-instant responses or extended, step-by-step thinking. One model, two ways to think. We’re also releasing an agentic coding tool: Claude Code.

Diffusion Without Tears is our attempt to make the score-matching + SDE interpretation of diffusion geometrically intuitive. If you're interested in our upcoming interview with @DrYangSong, I recommend reading this first! Link below.

Very excited to share our interview with @jaschasd on the history of diffusion models — from his original 2015 paper inventing them, to the GAN "ice age", to the resurgence in diffusion starting with DDPM. Enjoy!

I asked @AnthropicAI Claude via computer use to get me as many cookies as possible on Cookie Clicker and look what it did lol (video sped up 5x until it does the thing)

Introducing an upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and a new model, Claude 3.5 Haiku. We’re also introducing a new capability in beta: computer use. Developers can now direct Claude to use computers the way people do—by looking at a screen, moving a cursor, clicking, and typing text.
